Sweet Bonnie Top {PDF Pattern}

Today I thought I would share some of the other Sweet Bonnie Tops I made (pattern now available in the shop) You see when you make a pattern (or at least when I make a pattern) I draft a pattern, make it and then often go back and make edits. I like to make wearable muslins since I hate to spend so much time sewing something just for it to be thrown away, so here are some of the muslins along the way (there were about 5 others but they didn’t get finished all the way most were just checking a neckline or something 🙂

This one was my second muslin, and I was almost there… the neckline needed some re-working and in case you are wondering the top is backwards… I tried out the zipper in the front but I didn’t like the look and Abbey did NOT like a zipper in the front. She doesn’t really like zippers at all but in the back it seems to be out of sight out of mind 🙂

I found this olive print with faint magenta floral overlay on it for dirt cheap and I was kind of in love with it. I also tried out some leather scraps for the collar, even though the leather on the collar was a little wonky, mainly due to the neckline issues, I really loved the leather with the floral cotton print.

This one was almost perfect, and it’s one of my favorites. Chambray and Gingham are a match made in heaven. Besides taking out some ease from the back and making a small fix to the neckline this one made me do a happy dance. (for the record this one was #10)

I loved the pop of collar from the collar, which actually plays on the color specks in the chambray but those are hard to see in the picture.

The cute little exposed zipper is my favorite part, seriously.

The last one is the final muslin just testing all the final changes made. This one was the short sleeve option with the added pocket (that has since been raised) I love that the raglan sleeve lends itself to easily color block the sleeves.
