Today’s 30 min fix actually took me 18 min. (whoop whoop!) So couple things:
1: The Recess Raglan is a pattern designed by See Kate Sew
2: You can do no wrong by getting the pattern Kate is amazing and the pattern is fantastic (and quick)
3: Setting a timer to see how fast you can make the top is exciting for the inner sewing nerd that is
4: If you are under a serious time crunch you may just surprise yourself how quickly you can whip one up.
Tips on how to make one super fast? Up-cycle my friends. Nearly 10 years ago I got this sweater with white embroidery it was a favorite I loved it. Then well one fateful day the laundry was not so kind to her and she came back as a mini sweater. I was sad. So what did I do? Naturally I held on to it for nearly a decade (hoard much geez) then I decided it was time to give it new life.
So I had to alter the neckline from the pattern a little (it got cut lower) so I could save the embroidery I decided to go with white for the sleeves to mix it up and the sleeves and back were cut to the pattern only to save time I used the original hem of the sweater so I wouldn’t have to hem it (which saves time) The neck and sleeves have cuffs so they are super quick to finish off.
So when I really need to make something (cause I have a serious need to sew or I get crabby) I love that there are patterns out there that take the think work out of it and can be made in 30 min or less.
