The Helter Skelter Tee is one of those designs that bounced around in my head for awhile, mainly when I was a little tired of the “same old tee” for boys. Jude is an exciting kid and he needs an exciting wardrobe, and since things boys wear are somewhat limited he makes me stretch my design abilities and really come up with something new.
And since he already has a drawer full of some awesome Anytime at all tees, I wanted to give him a different option so I drafted a different fit for this tee. I consider it more of a “standard” tee fit, you know the somewhat boxy masculine fit. Nice and relaxed but not to loose, its a comfortable fit through the chest and belly but a wider cut in the sleeve and shoulder.
The tee still works for girls just as well as boys, I would just say it has that “borrowed from my brother” fit but hey throw some girly colors on there and you are good to go. For the pocket here I used a woven fabric (some beloved scrap in the stash) I LOVE picking the fabrics for this top, it’s a lot of fun thinking of all the combinations.
This little dancer likes her new “relaxed tee” due to the purple, I love the stripes with the little bit of floral.
For this guy, I made a few, it’s a great pattern to up cycle different prints, like maybe using up a logo from a tee that you love. His favorite one was the solid “plain” one. I think mainly because it was blue and red and those are his favorite colors. (he also loves his “be cool” shirt, and a few others I will show you later)
Lastly because I know you love it, Jude’s favorite “named” pose from the shoot. “The spinning top” Watch out Zoolander… he has your number.
Striped knit, blue marbled knit are both from Girl Charlee
All other fabrics were things from my scrap stash or up cycle pile.
