Today is actually one of the first things I made while making this summer collection and it may be the most loved shirt by this little girl, who has worn it at least a dozen times. You know you have a hit on your hands when you have to beg them to let you wash it.
So here is the deal. The shirt and bow detail are made the same way I made THIS tank only with a few minor tweaks.
1. For the hi-low effect I simple raised up the front line (along the fold) and then curved it down into the side seam.
2. For the back I lowered the back line along the fold and then curved it up into the side seam.
3. I lowered the back neckline a few inches
That’s it, the assembly and bow detail were done the same following the other post. So quick and so easy.
I really love the hi-low hem trend, for a couple of reasons but the main reason is because this little girl of mine has no tush what-so-ever. I mean nothing, her rear might as well curve in. So as you can maybe imagine keeping pants up when there is NOTHING to hold them up is challenging to say the least. So on any given day this girl has at least an inch or more of booty hanging out, we used to just do tunics and dresses with leggings but the hi-low hem totally solves the problem.
Now her wardrobe is extended to include new fun styles and her bum is safely covered.

I have the same problem with bum hanging out. Guess I need to spend a little time in front of my sewing machine to correct the problem. Thanks for the reminder, and for showing an adorable shirt!

Thank you for this!! Ive had the thought to do it but i forgot haha now i know how!! My daughter has so many leggings and never gets to wear them because i dont like leggings and regular shirts and her dresses are not tunic length yet. This fixes it! Thank you

I've been eyeballing that fabric….I think you've just convinced me that we have to have it!

I love this! Just curious, is this done in knit? I assume it is,. It's lovely and my daughter would LOVE it!

Yep knit fabric, although the neck opening is large enough to not need to stretch so the style would work in a non-knit fabric. However I don't finish any of the edges for the bow piece so that's best with knit.
