Row one for the block by block quilt is done. This quilt will be 5 blocks by 5 blocks (25 total) the blocks alone finish at 7.25″ (thats what I trim them all up to be) So I connect them all with white as filler. This separates and highlights each block. I had an original piece of art that has inspired all these blocks and that was how the art was as well, blocks separated by white.
I cut the square separators to be 4″X7.25″
Then I added one between each square and along the outside.
Each row is also separated by a 4″ strip cut the length of the row. Now the quilt is ready for the next 5 squares.
